The Into The Dark Series has delivered a series of hits and misses as I decided to write reviews on each installment of the films that reach from last October and will conclude next month (presumingly) as it's not yet known if there will be a season two with twelve new films.
Some films have stood out far above some of the others and that statement couldn't have been more true with All That We Destroy. I will be very blunt, I LOVED this film! The premise is Dr. Victoria Harris (Samantha Mathis) is cloning a girl Ashley ( Aurora Perrineau) in a secret lab in her home. The reason being is her son Spencer (Israel Broussard) has the makings of a serial killer.
Spencer killed the original Ashley an undisclosed time ago and his mom is determined to make a clone that will snap something in his brain and have him not want to murder her. However, it just dosen't seem to be working as Spencer falls farther and farther into insanity. We do get a little twist with a neighbor Marisa (Dora Madison) comes into play and she seemingly likes Spencer a lot. However mom would rather Spencer fall in love with the clone and the clone seems open to the idea until the memories of every clone Spencer has murdered comes back to her. Without spoiling anymore of the film it ends in fashion that showcases a vicious circle that some times can't be broken really well. I thought that the simple set design added to the film and performances by the cast were all very very very well done. This is one phycological horror film lovers will really enjoy.
