DOWN Is Really Worth Checking Out

As we continue down the line of Into The Dark films I have come to Down. While the premise of this film might be the simplest as two people are stuck on a elevator, this is by far the best HULU has offered in this series.

As the elevator gets caught we meet Jennifer Natalie Martinez and John Matt Lauria. They seem to be normal enough and while John dosen't seem to be very exciting, Jennifer has an attraction to him and they end up hooking up.

Now immediately after sleeping together things get very dark and twisted. Jennifer tells John she regrets what she's don and John states that is too bad and "He knew he set things up for a reason" . You see John is actually a former rich boy who lost it all and wanted to feel power once again. I'm really not doing the creepiness justice. Matt Lauria puts in serious work in making you hate him with a passion. There isn't a lot of cat and mouse type play here as it's all phycological. The two mess with each other and when they finally do get out of the elevator, Jennifer turns into a pretty big bad ass.

The only real complaint I had for what it was is that the final shot of this film is pretty close to the final shot of The Body which was the first film in this series. Out of the first half of these films I would say this is the one to watch.

Into The Dark Rankings

1. Down 8.5/10

2. The Body 8/10

3. Pooka 6.5/10

4. Flesh & Blood 5/10

5. New Year, New You 3.5/10
