[Event Review] Hollywood ScreamFest 3 Brings Virtual Haunting Experiences To A Start With A Bang!

There isn't anything like going through a live haunted attraction, sights, smells, sounds.. However this year in order to experience just as much Halloween Fun we've had to reach out and start coving virtual haunts as well as live ones! This weekend we started by "attending" Hollywood ScreamFest 3. The event houses 5 mazes ( 3 are year round) and several scare zones that get you excited for Halloween at a safe distance. While the mazes aren't scary compared to real deal, there was a few moments that got us the same that watching a scary movie can, and that along with some really well done graphic /gaming design is all we can ask for! So lets dive in!

Black Magic brings us face to face with the spirit of Harry Houdini and everything that comes with a magic show gone wrong. You will see all kinds of haunted house tricks in the form of a evil magic show! I really enjoyed this maze, and it even has a special musical score that was stuck in my head for awhile!

Shadows of the East is the second special maze built in the park just for this event. The maze brings you face to face with all kinds of ghosts and demons from the East and I can definitely imagine going through a haunt just like this one in person. I did find that this maze could have used some more. This is by far the second best maze of the event, but I thought Dark Magic was better by a good amount.

Movie Monsters is what I would rank the top of the park's three year round mazes. This makes you come face to face with all the classic monsters the way you would in Universal's House of Horrors. Lots of cool rooms and it's on a street filled with Icons during ScareFest which makes it even more fun.

Jester's Madhouse has by far one of the coolest maze entrances I've seen! The inside however is rather empty compared to everything else. The other maze is based on being inducted by aliens, and it was too empty, but did have some cool rooms! The scare zone based off of Silent Hill was amazing! It looked like I was playing a version of the actual game. The Hollywood Party with Killers Like M. Myers, Jason Freddy and more. The zones based on 28 Days Later and War of the Worlds were a little disappointing. Two original zones based off of Ghost Town and a tribe of Cannibals though, were really cool to check out! All in all man, I dug my first Virtual Haunt experience was a fun time, and I can't wait to do more!
