Nightbooks Looks To Keep Spooky Momentum For Netflix

Coming off of what was a very successful run with Summer's Fear Street Trilogy, Nightbooks looks to deliver another film for Netflix that seems like it will be in the same vein. In fact the plot almost sounds like something that we would find in a R.L. Stine book:

When Alex (Winslow Fegley), a boy obsessed with scary stories, is trapped by an evil witch (Krysten Ritter) in her magical apartment, and must tell a scary story every night to stay alive, he teams up with another prisoner, Yasmin (Lidya Jewett), to find a way to escape.

I've got to say that getting to see Krysten Ritter as the main villain definatley give me the same vibe that I got with last year's Witches remake that premiered on HBO Max in what was a welcome

release to a lacking haunt season. This year though, with seemingly a stacked haunt season both with events and films in the theatre, Netflix will bid for your time with Nightbooks. I must say just judging by the production stills and now a extended trailer, this film does seem like it will be worth a watch. The film comes to us Mid September so in fact it could serve as a perfect way to kick off your Halloween Season.
