Vampires, Ghosts and Family, Solid Themes For They Come Knocking

Losing a loved one is never easy and having to truly say good bye to that person is even harder. So with this installment of Into The Dark saying goodbye is a key point. Nathan (Clayne Crawford) Claire (Josephine Langford) and Maggie (Lia McHugh) are going to what was a favorite spot of Nathan and Val (the parents) but Val has sense died of cancer and the group is here to spread her ashes. It isn't long till they are meet by some creepy kids in strangers fashion, but it dosen't take long to figure out that these kids are more than creepy, they are a new take on vampires. The film's plot is very simple as to survive they must learn to let their mom's spirit rest and then the monsters (real or emotional) can't hurt them.

The acting in this one definitely had peaks and valleys. At times I thought that this cast was going to deliver a performance that would put this film at least in the top 3 in the series, but I think they lack the range to do so. the message and the cinematography are very well put together though so it left me very conflicted. Part of me wants to love this film, but most of me saw it for what it was: A decently creepy VOD horror pick that I wasn't overly mad about spending 90 minutes watching, but won't ever feel to need to watch again.
